President requests payment suspension through September 2021.
The Department of Education has extended the moratorium on student loan payments through the early fall of 2021. The previous student loan suspension, in place due to the pandemic, was set to expire at the end of this month.
The Education Department said in a statement, “At the request of President Biden, the Acting Secretary of Education will extend the pause on federal student loan payments and collections and keep the interest rate at 0%. Too many Americans are struggling to pay for basic necessities and to provide for their families. They should not be forced to choose between paying their student loans and putting food on the table.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the Department of Education as they seek to care for students as the pandemic wears on.
- That God would work His will through the president’s administration.
- For the end of the coronavirus pandemic.
